What Is Rights-Based Publishing?

Rights-Based Publishing is a collaborative publishing model in which the author grants Innovation Era Press (IEP) a license to publish their work — either in part or in full. Under this model, IEP assumes full editorial and market risk. Authors are not required to pay any fees. IEP takes responsibility for the complete publishing process, including translation, editing, design, printing, ISBN assignment, distribution, and sales.

Step 1 — Initial Inquiry

Contact the IEP Client Services Team to request information on our service workflow, collaboration models, and contract terms.

Step 2 — Manuscript Submission

Submit the following to the IEP Editorial Team:

• A publishing proposal (template provided by IEP)
• Complete manuscript
• Author biography

Step 3 — Editorial Review & Decision

The IEP Review Team will assess the manuscript and notify the author of its publication decision — typically within 2 to 3 weeks. The author is then invited to confirm their intent to proceed.

Step 4 — Rights Negotiation

The IEP Client Services Team works with the author to discuss and agree on the rights licensing arrangement, covering:

• Scope of rights granted (partial or full)
• Proposed work schedule for each stage

Step 5 — Contract Signing

Upon mutual agreement on all terms, both parties formally execute the rights-based publishing agreement.

Step 6 — Production & Fulfillment

IEP enters the fulfillment phase. Our teams will work closely with the author to finalize:

• The manuscript in its publication-ready form
• The distribution and release plan

Step 7 — Publication, Distribution & Delivery

The title is published and distributed according to the agreed plan. Author receives complimentary copies. Author is invited to submit a fulfillment review evaluating IEP’s service.
