One French-Speaking Volunteer for Book Presentation and Signing Support (7–8 November 2026, Paris)

About the Event
The annual independent publishing fair organised by L’Autre Livre will take place on 7–8 November 2026 at the Palais de la Femme in Paris. It is the yearly gathering of France’s independent publishing community, bringing together many independent publishers and authors and presenting a wide variety of publications to the public.
The International Academy for Talent Discovery and Development (IATDD) will take part in literary exchange activities during the fair, with a focus on two books translated from Chinese into French. The authors of both books will be signing copies for readers on site. IATDD is looking for one French-speaking volunteer to help present the books and engage with readers.
Volunteer Tasks
1. Presenting the content and themes of the two books, and the authors’ backgrounds, to French readers;
2. Assisting with the book signings, helping things run smoothly at the stand and, where needed, interpreting between Chinese and French for the authors and readers;
3. Answering visitors’ general questions about IATDD and its cultural activities.
Dates and Venue
• Dates: Saturday 7 November 2026, 11:00–19:00, and Sunday 8 November 2026, 11:00–18:00, including a lunch break. Priority will be given to applicants available on both days.
• Venue: Palais de la Femme, 94 rue de Charonne, 75011 Paris (Metro line 9, Charonne station).
Requirements
1. Fluent French and confidence in speaking with the public;
2. Ability to read Chinese, in order to become familiar with the two books beforehand; bilingual Chinese–French speakers will be preferred;
3. An interest in literature, publishing or cross-cultural exchange, and enjoyment of meeting people;
4. Availability for a preparatory meeting of about one hour, online or in person, before the fair. IATDD will provide materials on the books and key presentation points in advance.
What IATDD Offers
1. Certificate: a Certificate of Participation in a Literary and Artistic Activity, issued by IATDD after the event;
2. Reimbursement of expenses: transport and meal expenses actually incurred during the assignment will be reimbursed against valid receipts, in accordance with IATDD’s financial rules, up to €50 per day;
3. Meeting authors and publishers: an opportunity to see France’s independent publishing scene up close and to meet authors and publishers.
This is an unpaid volunteer assignment and does not create an employment relationship. No remuneration is paid other than the reimbursement of expenses described above.

活动简介
L’Autre Livre 主办的年度独立出版书展将于 2026年11月7日至8日 在巴黎妇女宫（Palais de la Femme）举行。这是法国独立出版界一年一度的重要聚会，汇集众多独立出版社和作者，向公众展示多元的出版作品。
国际人才发现与发展学院（IATDD）将在书展期间参与文学交流活动，重点推介两部从中文译成法语的书籍，两部书的作者将在现场为读者签名。学院现招募1名法语志愿者，协助现场讲解和读者交流。
志愿服务内容
1. 向法国读者介绍两部书的内容、主题和作者背景；
2. 协助作者签名活动，维持现场秩序，必要时为作者和读者之间的交流提供中法口译；
3. 回答参观者关于学院及其文化活动的一般性问题。
服务时间与地点
• 时间： 2026年11月7日（星期六）11:00–19:00，11月8日（星期日）11:00–18:00，含午餐休息。两天都能到场的申请人优先。
• 地点： 巴黎妇女宫（Palais de la Femme），94 rue de Charonne, 75011 Paris（地铁9号线 Charonne 站）。
报名条件
1. 法语流利，能用法语自如地与公众交流；
2. 能阅读中文，以便事先了解两部书的内容，优先考虑中法双语人士；
3. 对文学、出版或跨文化交流有兴趣，乐于与人沟通；
4. 能在活动前参加一次约一小时的线上或线下准备会。学院将提前提供书籍资料和讲解要点。
学院提供
1. 《文学与艺术活动参与证明》： 活动结束后，由学院出具；
2. 费用报销： 服务期间实际发生的交通和餐饮费用，凭有效票据按学院财务规则报销，每天不超过50欧元；
3. 结识作者和出版人： 有机会近距离接触法国独立出版界，结识作者和出版人。
本次服务为无偿志愿服务，不构成劳动关系，除上述费用报销外不另付报酬。
